Hongkongers have been flocking to see sakura trees – or cherry blossom – that have been blooming unusually early around Chek Lap Kok South, on Lantau. The Airport Authority planted the trees in 2021 – they usually appear between February and May. The Authority also planted 260 golden trumpet trees, which are hoped to flower in March.
