A 69-year-old man has died in Kwai Chung after sustaining serious injuries from a chopper attack – police have detained his 73-year-old wife on suspicion of murder.
The man was found unconscious by police at a unit in Kwai Yiu House on Lai Yiu estate in the early hours of Thursday following a call from the man’s daughter. He was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital but was certified dead at 5:41am, according to a press release.
“After initial investigation, the case was classified as murder,” police said. “The 73-year-old woman was arrested in suspected connection with the case. Sustaining no superficial injury, the woman was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital in conscious state. She is being detained for enquiries.”
The chopper was seized by police as evidence.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted at a later date as District Crime Squad 2 of Kwai Tsing investigates.
