A photo exhibition which captures the myriad marine life in Hong Kong waters, from squid to seahorses, has attracted a record number of entries this year. The Hong Kong Underwater Photo and Video Competition is organised by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department and the Hong Kong Underwater Association and has been held annually since 2012.

The organisers this year received a record 1,073 entries, submitted in both the Macro and Close-up Category and the Standard and Wide Angle Category and divided into open groups and student groups.

All entries had to feature marine life or ecology in Hong Kong waters. Digital photos should have been taken between October 1 last year to September 30 this year, while digital videos should have been taken between October 1, 2018 to September 30 this year.

An exhibition featuring the winning work will be held on November 21-25 at Plaza Hollywood in Diamond Hill and on December 24-28 at +WOO shopping mall in Tin Shui Wai.
