Chief Executive Carrie Lam has “starred” on the late night Conan O’Brien show in the US – albeit in cardboard cut-out form.
The embattled leader formed part of Conan’s “socially distanced” audience, owing to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The cut-outs were sent in by audience members, though it was unclear whether O’Brien knew who Lam was. His sidekick Andy Richter, however, said “she doesn’t look like it but she is nuts.”
O’Brien added that the dismayed-looking Lam always caught his eye when he came out to do his show: “You look like you’re here to pass a death sentence.”
In response, activist Joshua Wong said on Twitter that Lam had become an “international laughing stock.”
