American fast casual restaurant chain Five Guys is set to open in Hong Kong by the end of this year.

International Brand & Marketing Director Joel Bearden told HKFP that no opening date had yet been confirmed, though doors will open in the final quarter of 2018: “Our ambition is to grow in Hong Kong and expand in Asia next year (and the years to come). Our menu will remain the same as in our other markets.”
On Tuesday, readers spotted a branch under construction on Johnston Road, Wan Chai, next to The Pawn.
Founded in 1986, the restaurant is known for offering a simple menu: “We like to focus on making a few things extremely good,” Bearden said.

The chain says it has 1,450 locations around the world, entering markets in Kuwait, France and Spain in 2016.
In April, rival US chain Shake Shack arrived in Hong Kong whilst In-N-Out Burger has been in and out of the city with a series of pop-up outlets over recent years.
