The wet weather shows little sign of relenting this week, as a trough of low pressure continues to bring thundery showers to the region.
“Under the influence of a southwesterly airstream, the weather will remain unsettled over the coastal areas of Guangdong midweek this week,” the Observatory said on Sunday.
Heavy showers and squally thunderstorms are expected on Monday, with temperatures of up to 29c.

Hong Kong may, however, see some sunny periods from around Thursday.
“The subtropical ridge over the western North Pacific will extend westwards in the latter part of this week. The weather over the coast of Guangdong will improve gradually,” the Observatory added.
