A cleaner in China who was run over by an armoured vehicle was left to suffer under the van as security personnel offloaded money on Sunday morning.

The incident took place in Yanan in Shanxi province in Northern China. According to the Wuqi Traffic Police, they arrived after 11 minutes after a report was made. During a one-and-a-half minute long video that has since emerged, none of the onlookers intervened to assist the woman.

Commenters on Weibo were split on the situation. “I can’t use any words to describe my anger, the era of destruction of humanity is everybody’s tragedy,” said one.

Another said: “Money is important, but it never is more valuable than life. After seeing this Weibo post, I think it is too laughable, too shameful. Has humanity been eaten by dogs?”

However, one also said “if they had already called 120 [the emergency hotline] then nothing more can be said. Under such severe injuries, non-professionals may cause even more injuries. Guarding the renminbi’s safety is also their job.”

The cleaner was later sent to the hospital, according to local police. They also said that the incident is under investigation.
