Hong Kong Art Week is officially underway, and Art Central is among the many events happening in the city over the course of this week.

The annual art fair is celebrating its eighth edition with a focus on showcasing the next generation of talent from Asia’s most ambitious galleries and artists.

The fair opened to the public on Wednesday, and will run until Saturday March 25 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This year’s fair will be enriched with onsite programmes that reflect its strength in foregrounding cutting-edge art and cultural experiences of the highest calibre.

Art Central features 37 pioneering galleries from Hong Kong, including Contemporary by Angela Li and Square Street Gallery, as well as 60 influential galleries from greater Asia.

In addition to the galleries, the fair also features the Yi Tai Sculpture & Installation Projects, which includes large-scale works by established artists, and the Blue Throat – Start the Churning performance art programme. This was curated by Chris Wan, the curatorial adviser for Art Central 2023.

Visitors can also take part in a comprehensive art education programme which includes talks, tours, and workshops.
