On the 23rd anniversary of the Handover, thousands took to the streets to protest the newly enacted national security law. Police deployed water cannon, pepper spray and pepper balls against protesters. 370 people were arrested, 10 under the new legislation. A police officer was stabbed in the shoulder by a protester while a man riding a motorbike displaying a ‘Glory to Hong Kong ‘ flag was flung off his vehicle by police officers.
