Molotov cocktails, rotting food, abandoned safety gear and ditched clothing remain strewn across the devastated Polytechnic University campus in Hung Hom.

Few corners of the battle-scarred site remain untouched following the fierce protest battles and vandalism that took place a week previously.

The library is flooded, several entrances show signs of fire damage, chemicals are still bubbling in deserted science labs, and many walls are covered in graffiti.

Flies and maggots inhabit the canteen kitchens, makeshift barricades dot the perimeter, and glass panels and windows across the site have been smashed.

Police continue to surround the campus, though it is thought only a handful of protesters are still hiding inside. Around 1,100 arrests have been made in connection to the days-long siege.

HKFP toured the wreckage on Monday.

The campus Starbucks branch suffered the most damage. The cafe has been a target after the local franchisee’s daughter spoke out against protesters at the UN.https://t.co/UwonDGtadB #HongKong #China #antielab #antiELABhk #HongKongProtests pic.twitter.com/C3GYtiQAw8
