The World Press Photo Foundation has announced the nominees for its 62nd annual Photo Contest and 9th Digital Storytelling contest awards [Graphic content below].

This year, 4,738 photographers from 129 countries entered 78,801 images into the contest.

An independent jury comprising leading photography professionals will select the winning pictures. The winners will be announced at the Awards Show taking place on 11 April in Amsterdam.
