The Hong Kong Observatory raised the Strong Wind Signal No.3 at 4:20pm on Tuesday, as a tropical depression moved westwards into the region.

“Son-Tinh will be closest to Hong Kong in the next few hours, skirting about 300 kilometres to the south of the territory. With local winds turning to the east, winds are expected to strengthen gradually,” the Observatory said.
