Hong Kong’s Centre for Food Safety has warned the public to steer clear of two batches of bottled Stella Artois beer, as they may contain glass particles.

According to an alert by the centre on Tuesday, two batches of the Belgium beer in 300ml bottles – with best before dates of September 15 and September 16, 2018 – were recalled by Canadian authorities.

The issue was discovered in a routine check.

A total of 2,160 cartons of the beer were imported locally and were all distributed. They have been taken off shelves and recalled.

A spokesperson for the centre said it “immediately followed up with major local importers and retailers.” It said that those who possess the affected batches should stop selling or using them immediately.
