The Hong Kong Observatory says the temperature next week may fall to a low of 10 degrees Celsius next Thursday.

The weather this week will be cloudy with some rain patches, with temperatures between 15 and 21 degrees Celsius.

But the Observatory said in its latest nine-day weather forecast that a broad band of cloud will cover the south China coast and the northern part of the South China Sea in the latter part of this week, bringing rainy weather to the region.

An intense winter monsoon will then reach the south China coast early next week, it said. “Temperatures will fall significantly over the region and the weather will remain cold in the following few days,” the Observatory added.
