Temperatures are expected to drop significantly on Saturday night, with morning temperatures in urban areas set to fall to 12 degrees Celsius early next week.

The temperature could reach lows of 13 degrees Celsius over the coming days, and 12 degrees Celsius on Sunday and Monday.
Hong Kong Observatory Scientific Officer Chan Siu-wai said on Tuesday that the cold weather is attributed to the influence of the winter monsoon. “The cold air will start travelling south, and during that period the weather will noticeably turn chilly.”
According to the Hong Kong observatory, “A strong easterly airstream will affect the coast of Guangdong in the next couple of days. It will be cloudy with a few rain patches over the region.”
“A cold front is expected to reach southern China over the weekend. The associated intense winter monsoon will bring cold weather to the region in the following few days.”

There will be a few light rain patches on Wednesday with highs of 20 degrees Celsius.
