After two-and-a-half years at our current shared office space, Hong Kong Free Press is in need of a new permanent base.

Since our launch, HKFP has published over 9,000 news and comment pieces, and we have been lucky in that we have never had to account for office space costs. Our newsroom is run very efficiently on a tight budget, as our Annual Report and Transparency Report show.

As a small non-profit, HKFP’s limited funds are unable to cover rent in one of the world’s most expensive property markets. Instead, 83 per cent of our income goes towards supporting the modest salaries of our hard-working team of four.

If you, or your company or NGO, is able to help by providing a centrally-located working space – at zero, or next-to-no cost – please contact us.

Hong Kong Free Press is a new, non-profit, English-language news source seeking to unite critical voices on local and national affairs. Free of charge and completely independent, HKFP arrives amid rising concerns over declining press freedom in Hong Kong and during an important time in the city’s constitutional development.
