Social media giant Facebook will be rolling out a new function to remind Hong Kong voters to take part in the Legislative Council election this Sunday.

The “Voter Megaphone” will show Facebook users in the city aged 18 or above a message reminding them to cast their ballots on election day. Users can also share publicly when they have voted.

The function was first launched in 2014 and has since been activated during elections in countries such as India, Korea and Japan, among others.
