Police may charge data scientist Gary Jackson, 42, who was allegedly involved in a case of assault at the Hong Kong Brew House in Lan Kwai Fong last Wednesday, by mid-April. The police told HKFP that there is a possibility that he may be charged earlier should investigations end earlier.

A police spokesperson did not comment on the length of the investigation of the incident, which took place in front of a large audience.

Jackson told an HKFP reporter that he would be travelling to Australia last Saturday.

Lawyer Jeffrey Tam said that the length of the investigation was not unusual for cases of assault. “One month is not an unreasonably long time,” he said.
