A concrete balcony collapsed and fell on the ground from a third-floor flat in Beijing on Thursday, reported China National Radio (CNR).

The incident occurred at a residential building in Chaoyang district at around 6:00pm. No one was injured in the incident but a window beneath the flat was damaged.

The home owner told Mirror Evening News he was at home when the balcony fell off. He said he had not noticed anything abnormal about his balcony before the collapse.

Pictures posted on social media showed maintenance workers knocking down the remnants of the structure.

CNR cited residents as saying the building was built in 1958.

Another balcony collapse was reported in Shenyang, Liaoning in July this year.

The home owner said she was chopping meat to make dumplings when the balcony fell from their seventh floor home onto the fifth floor, bringing down the balcony on the sixth floor with it as well.
