A Filipino domestic worker who had been working for former actress Celia Sie Lim-chi fell to her death from Sie’s home in Yuen Long on Thursday after being caught stealing jewellery, according to Ming Pao.

Sie told police her 29-year-old maid, identified as Janice, admitted to taking the jewellery and pledging it at a pawn shop, the report said.

Janice had apparently agreed to go to the pawn shop to redeem the stolen property before she died on Thursday morning. She fell from her employer’s home at Riva estate on Ying Ho Road, Kam Tin.

According to local newspaper The Sun, Janice started working for Sie, 41, five years ago.

The police have launched an investigation into her death.
