The latest Colour Run event was held in Beijing on June 20, attracting an estimated 20,000 ‘colour runners’ to take part in the five-kilometre race.
The latest race in Beijing was the newest addition to a global series of Colour Run events, which featured an untimed five-kilometre race where runners were pelted with coloured powder.

The first Colour Run event was held in the US state of Arizona in 2012 in an effort to encourage casual runners to run for fun. It describes itself as an event to promote healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the “happiest 5k on the planet”‘.
