Update (6:33pm): A person was killed on track at University MTR station. The identity of the person is not known.

Train services on the East Rail line were delayed at around 4:20pm today after the person fell on the track.

As of 5:33pm, the MTR Corporation posted on their website that the case has been handled and normal train service would gradually resume on the East Rail line.

Passengers have indicated that accidents frequently occur at University Station, and have called on the MTR Corporation to install platform screen doors for safety.
